01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Fitted with both counter and table seating, Fukuchan Nerima is a neighbourhood dining spot appreciated for its affordable, down-to-earth noodles and set meals. The signature tonkotsu ramen uses thin noodles that catch the broth nicely, making for an approachable, easy-slurping bowl. Table condiments including spicy karashi takana greens, beni shoga pickled ginger, and seasoned bean sprouts let diners tweak the flavour profile as they eat.

For a heartier appetite, the Manpuku Service Set combinations pairing noodles with rice dishes are a dependable option. Choices range from a half fried rice set loaded with chopped narutomaki and roast pork to spicy mentaiko rice or crisp, thin-skinned pan-fried gyoza. The sets allow flexibility with noodle bases as well, permitting a swap to lighter chuka soba or chilled summer tsukemen in place of tonkotsu.

Portions can be dialed in further with kaedama noodle refills ordered in whole- or half-portions, alongside small-dish toppings like house-made niku miso bakudan seasoned pork paste or loose mentaiko. With sides like gyoza, shumai, and bottled beer on hand, the shop works as naturally for a quick solo lunch as it does for unwinding with a drink after work before finishing with noodles. Orders are placed verbally from your seat, and payment is cash only.
